Empowering APRNs to improve health through philanthropy, education and leadership

New Autonomous Practice Bill filed January 5th, 2021

Posted over 4 years ago

A new bill for APRN Autonomous Practice was filed in the Florida House and Senate recently. This bill, which will be all inclusive for Florida APRNs, removes written protocols and physician supervision. The Autonomous APRN Practice bill passed last year, excluded many APRN groups.

HB 111 is sponsored by Representative Tyler Sirois from Merritt Island and SB 424 was sponsored by Senator Jeff Brandes of St. Petersburg.

Now is the time to write letters and make phone calls to your legislators to discuss the bill and what it means for your practice. The legislative session opens on March 2, 2021, so it is important to reach out and educate as many legislators as possible so they have that information as they prepare for session.
