PRESIDENT

Jennifer Kuretski, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, AAHIVS

I have been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2009 and am currently the Nurse Practitioner Degree Tracks Chair and Associate Professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA). I maintain practice as an FNP in an outpatient HIV and Hepatitis C practice here in West Palm Beach.

I feel that I would be a good candidate for the President of our council due to my experience in numerous leadership roles in my life, including my most recent position as Vice President of the Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County.  I have been actively involved in securing Proclamations from local governments honoring NPs for our hard work and service to our community during National Nurse Practitioner Week 2019! I have worked on subcommittees for the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.  I also actively mentor new NPs into practice as they transition from NP school into NP practice (during the first year of practice as a new NP).

In addition to the various leadership roles, I also believe in empowering and inspiring new and future nurse practitioners. I believe this is an essential trait for a leader in the Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County.

My personal motto is “Care for all, lead by example and above all, continue to inspire others!”

VICE PRESIDENT

Dr. Donna B Murray, DNP, FNP-BC

I am currently serving in an active role as Treasurer of Council., 3.5 years as a participant for annual conference planning, and an active member of the local council since 1999. I believe I have some ideas to promote our profession nationally while advancing the local council through active networking. I am the owner of Murray & Associates Family Healthcare, a preceptor of both online and local programs for FNP programs > 18 years, course professor for online FNP program and a member of our state organization, Florida Nurse Practitioner Network (FNPN) and national organization, American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Education: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Florida Atlantic University; Master of Science (MS), concentration: Family Nurse Practitioner Track (FNP), Florida Atlantic University; Murray State University, Bachelor of Science, Major: Nursing (BSN).

The primary focus will be to improve membership and the importance of policy involvement to advance Florida APRNs to full practice authority. Both are equally important, especially as we move into the critical year of 2020 and both focus on strategy development that includes connecting with local groups and attending meetings to further educate nurse practitioners about the importance of improving relationships with diverse interests and cultures. Best practices will be a part of the focus to improve the health care outcomes of the community in the community development process.
